A new pub that has set up shop on the high street will be the first micropub in Lincoln with a capacity of less than 30.
Half way between The Ritz and The Golden Eagle, the new venue will definitely fill a gap on the lower end of the high street for those who don’t live in the city centre and love real ale.
The Hop and Barley is the brainchild of Steve Marston who is also behind Cathedral Heights Brewery in Bracebridge Heath. The Hop and Barley won’t be a taphouse for the brewery but instead will be focusing on local and small scale breweries (including the occasional Cathedral Heights brew). Steve is aiming to have six cask ales, one craft keg, a selection of real cider and local soft drinks behind the bar.
According to Steve, although planning permission hasn’t been finalised the micropub is aiming to be open by mid to late May.
